Showing Up Anyway
Some days inspiration flows.
Some days words come easy, projects get finished, and everything seems to fall into place.
And then there are the other days.
The days when your heart feels heavy. When your mind is tired. When you stare at a blank page, a half-finished project, or a long to-do list and wonder where your motivation went.
I’ve had more of those days lately than I care to admit.
Life doesn’t always stop when we’re exhausted. Responsibilities still need attention. Bills still need paying. Laundry still needs washing. The dog still wants to go outside. The world keeps moving.
What I’m learning is that strength isn’t always found in huge accomplishments.
Sometimes strength is simply showing up.
Sometimes it’s getting out of bed when you’d rather stay under the covers.
Sometimes it’s sitting down at your desk even when creativity feels a million miles away.
Sometimes it’s deciding that if you can’t write a chapter, you’ll write a paragraph. If you can’t create something beautiful, you’ll clean a room. If you can’t run, you’ll walk.
I’ve spent a lot of time waiting for inspiration to arrive before taking action. But lately I’ve discovered that inspiration often shows up after I take the first step.
Not before.
After.
And even when it doesn’t, there is still value in moving forward.
God never promised that every day would be easy. But He did promise that we would never walk through those difficult days alone.
So today, if you’re tired, discouraged, uncertain, or carrying more than you feel equipped to handle, know this:
You don’t have to have everything figured out.
You don’t have to be at your best.
You don’t have to be inspired.
Just keep showing up.
One step.
One prayer.
One day at a time.
And trust that God is still working, even when progress feels slow.
Because sometimes the greatest victory isn’t moving mountains.
Sometimes it’s simply refusing to quit.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for walking beside us through both the good days and the difficult ones. Thank You for being our strength when we feel weak, our peace when life feels overwhelming, and our hope when we cannot see what lies ahead.
Lord, for anyone reading this who feels tired, discouraged, or burdened, remind them that they are never alone. Help us trust You when the path is uncertain and give us the courage to keep taking the next step, even when it feels small.
Teach us to find joy in Your presence rather than our circumstances. Help us remember that progress is not always measured by how far we’ve gone, but by our willingness to keep moving forward with faith. In Yeshuas name Amen
Today, we place our worries, our disappointments, and our unanswered questions into Your hands. Renew our hearts, refresh our minds, and strengthen our spirits.
Thank You for Your unfailing love, Your endless grace, and Your faithfulness through every season of life.
In Jesus’ name,
